Meetween is a project funded by the European Commission, designed to enhance communication between individuals by offering a "Personal AI Mediator for Virtual MEETings BetWEEN People." In essence, Meetween aims to simplify and enrich interactions on video conferencing platforms, promoting seamless, engaging, and barrier-free collaboration across different languages.

The project leverages AI-based technology, with a particular focus on multimodal AI foundation models. This technology enables not only speech-to-speech translation but also the incorporation of the participants' contexts, including their regional and cultural backgrounds, particularly linguistic aspects.

Furthermore, Meetween prioritizes safety, privacy, and ethical considerations, aligning with the European vision for responsible AI.
